As of sunday 7th july at the SWRA AGM it was agreed to disolve SWRA and with this the SWRA forum will close on friday there has been announcment made on the forum to this effect.

Sorry to hear this news,

Does this leave us without an official mouthpiece or do we form a proper one?

I firmly believe that we have a reason to exist and we must fight for this right.

Ain't it amazing how history repeats its self ...... 150 years ago westerners were fighting for the right of existence.

We have to fight for this right now through a properly constituted and formerly organised organisation that is willing to make representation at government level.

Otherwise we run the risk of becoming extinct......just like our western heroes

And let us not forget that many westerners were first or second generation British subjects seeking to free themselves of the shackles of an oppressive government and were looking for a new life where they could defend there rights in a positive manner.


Well I have said my piece and now I will throw my soap box onto the fire and brew a nice hot coffee.

with the best of respect I understand how you are feeling.

As for a mouthpiece I think one of the problems was that we all had different ideas on where the S.W.R.A. was going and what it was about there was many different views of what road we were going down.

As long as we stay within the law i.e. the vcr bill then everything should be alright and as long as we have everything in place then we can fight it all the way (just incase anything does happen).

And of course I fully endorse you sentiments on keeping within the law......but we must have a voice within the law making arena or we will just become an easy target for political statistical manipulation on alleged crime reduction.

We are all interested in reflecting events of a bygone era....... we don't want to hold a whole street to ransom or go to Tescos(or any other reasonable priced supermarket) waiving play pistols about.

The law makers must be made aware of the differences otherwise we will all be tarred with the same brush.

The current law makers will find the easiest and weakest link to manipulate statistics on potential threats.....we must not become one of them.

Let them make being a butcher or chef illegal first because statistically they carry or own more dangerous weapons than we do.

Goddamn I am passionate about my right to freedom of choice and I ain't letting any weak bladdered politician take that from me.

im with you and BJ all the way.

on the issue of haveing a voice, i would also agree on that, on the SWRA forum some time ago we were contacted by the UKWF to see if we would be interested in joining in with them in lobbying the government.

i put this to the Gunslingers who seemed to be interested and i told them i would relay any info that the UKWF would forward onto me, however they have failed to contact me and this is after i had made several enquiries to them for info.
